Project Review

This project aims to empower women from vulnerable indigenous communities in Cameroon; specifically, Bororo, Hausa, Fulani and native women through a sustainable social entrepreneurship model focused on dairy farming. In this country, Women especially those from these indigenous groups face systemic challenges including limited access to education, land ownership, credit facilities, and economic opportunities. These women are traditionally involved in livestock rearing but lack the necessary resources and entrepreneurial frameworks to turn dairy farming into a profitable venture.

The IWDSE Project intends to provide them with skills training, startup support, market access, and cooperative structures. The Project will bring a range of economic, social, cultural and nutritional impacts, not only to the beneficiary women but also to their families, communities, and the broader national economy; Economic empowerment (incomes, jobs, etc.), Improved Nutrition and food security, Gender equality and social Inclusion, Cultural preservation, Environmental Sustainability, Market Development and community growth, Value-Addition for international markets, Resilience in times of crisis, and others. These advantages contribute to holistic global development while aligning to over 12 UNSDGs (No Poverty, Decent work and Economic growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Gender Equality, Reduced Inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Clean water and sanitation, Climate action, Life on Land).
