Grass to Grace (G2G) Initiative

Project Review

The Grass to Grace (G2G) project is a transformative initiative committed to the holistic empowerment of vulnerable women and girls in Cameroon. Rooted in the principles of inclusive entrepreneurship and social solidarity, G2G utilizes group-based microloan systems inspired by the Grameen model to enable economic independence and social upliftment.

Through the G2G project, marginalized women—many of whom have faced generational poverty, conflict, and social exclusion—are organized into cooperative groups where they receive entrepreneurial training, financial support and ongoing mentorship. This group-based approach builds trust, accountability, and collective resilience, while promoting sustainable livelihoods through trades, craft, agriculture and services.

The all-inclusive objective of this Project is not merely financial inclusion, but the restoration of dignity, purpose, and intervention for these women and girls—helping them transition from vulnerability to leadership in their homes and communities and their overall holistic empowerment and happiness.

The Grameen model, which uses group-based micro loans to foster accountability, has proven effective in similar contexts globally.

The G2G Project is a practical model of grassroots innovation, championing gender equity, economic justice, and community development. It aligns strongly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those targeting poverty eradication, gender equality, decent work, and reduced inequalities.
